Sam Hain
Samuel E. Hain found in US Census records for this man in Marion, OH. for 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1910, and 1920. He was Samuel E. Hain, a prosperous farmer born about 1838 in PA but in OH before 1850 - the oldest child of Adam and Mary Ann (Ann) Hain (with younger siblings Eli, Martha A., and Eli E. Hain). He married a woman named Orpha R. Snyder around 1865, and together they had children Frank A., and Flora M[ay]. By 1900 he was 71 years old, widowed and living with his daughter, who went by May F. and was a "school teacher" age 41. In 1920 and 1930 nothing changed - father and daughter lived together, she continued as a "teacher - publich school", and he was 91 in 1930. Couldn't find a 1940 Census record for either of them.
