Checked US Census records and found listings clearly belonging to this man that show she and he and his wife migrated west from Marion Co., OH to Wayne Co., IL some time in the 1870s. They had in all 6 children (Lydia, William H., Hiram, Charles, John S., and Phebe Q.).
- 1860 Census - Montgomery Twp., Marion Co. OH: E. D. Sprague, age 33, born in OH, "farmer"; with wife Catherine Sprague, age 32, born in OH; and children Lydia 8, William 6, Hiram 4, and Charles 1.
- 1870 Census - Montgomery Twp., Marion Co. OH: Davis Sprague, age 46, born in OH, "farmer"; with wife Catherine, age 44, born in OH; and all the children from the 1860 Census plus a new younger son (Lydia, William, Hiram, Charles, and John).
